Beware!!! of who you contact
Licensed Electrical Contractors are trained, insured, and experienced in the work they perform.
They log thousands of hours in classroom and hands on training. They must renew their license
every year after completing an 8 hour continuing education course and have proof of 1 million in
liability insurance by Texas law. For this reason electrical contractors may charge more than a
handyman or an unlicensed electrician. Unexperienced, untrained and uninsured people are not
the type of people you want working on electrical systems in your home or business.
According to a 2006 report from the United States Fire Administration, approximately 67,800 fires
occur annually due to problems in a home's electrical system, resulting in approximately 485
deaths, more than 2,300 injuries, and more than $868 million in residential property loss.
Improper electrical installations cause countless deaths and fires every year, and thousands of
home owners electrocute themselves when working with holiday lighting.
It's AGAINST THE LAW to run an electrical service ad without showing an actual electrical
contractor license number. That does not mean "TX LICENSED or LICENSED ELECTRICIAN or
LICENSE ON REQUEST or TX ELECTRICIAN or EXPERIENCED ELECTRICIAN" or anything
else. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for the license number, usually 5 digits in length.
IF YOU WANT TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY FROM HARM, always, always, always run a check
on the license number of any electrician your thinking of hiring.

It's that easy or call 1-800-803-9202 and verify their license.
